I am a test engineer and routinely have to debug this type of stuff in my job but damn if I want to due it on a TV that I have paid Vizio for. only the current software installed.įor 2 years I have loved the picture quality of the Vizio but if the controls that surround the picture/display are this buggy due to poorly tested Firmware fixes then this is unacceptable. I wish I knew when exactly my software was updated but that info is not supplied via the TV Menu. Pain in the A$s because I should not have to do this every day. and then plug back in and it works fine for another day. Sometimes the TV will not power on via the remote or even with the PWR button on the back of the TV. I have a 2019 M Series (M705-G3) that I bought 2 years and 2 weeks back and have the exact same issues and the software is currently at 2.70.33-1 and I am not sure when it was installed but my problems have all been in the past week. I definitely won't be buying another Vizio TV or Soundbar again (their soundbars are also glitchy messes), and encourage others not to buy their products as well! I won't be waiting for another update/fix, which will probably be a few months too late anyways! Then on the next update, which took place a couple of months later, the Smartcast Platform was fixed and working fine again, but the fix just came unacceptablely late. I remember a couple of firmware versions ago, Vizio completely crippled their Smartcast platform with an update, and turned it into an unusable/laggy mess. I turned the TV off, after getting "the firmware has been updated" pop-up, and then the problems began when trying to turn the TV back on the next time. ![]() The TV was completely fine before the new firmware update! The remote is unresponsive, the operating software lags and crashes upon turning on, and it's hard to even get the thing to turn on in the first place(have to unplug/plug-back in).
